I haven't been on here for a while but plan on posting a few things. I need to update the server closet pictures and a few other things.

The server closet is a simi-rack setup that will be moved into a new closet when i get a chance. It will be in a rack of sorts. At the moment it is a rack mounted enclosure with a rack mounted raid array. The server has the same components as the previous with a few minor changes. The 4 1.5TB hard drives have been moved and a external raid card was added. The raid array has 10 1.5TB hard drives in a raid 5.

I will have pictures up soon but for now, you have the idea.

Everything has been updated. The server is now a Dual Core 2.5Ghz 45nm, 4GB DDR2, 4 x 1.5TB HDD's in RAID 5. It has 2 partitions. The first is 20GB with Windows Server 2003 Enterprise. It also has a VMware session for the router and is running this site along with a few others. The second partiton is the remainder ( Actual size of 4.07TB ) of the drive for storage. I did clean the closet up a little and installed a network printer for printing invoices.

I built one similar to this for a friend. I can build one for you!!

I bought a couple of new servers for my server closet. They are (were) Dell PowerVault 745N's but I converted them to PowerEdge 750's. One of them is my Domain Controller and the other is still a NAS (Network Attached Storage).

The first has (1) 3.0Ghz P4 / 2GB Ram / 4 x 250GB in Raid 5
The Second has (1) 2.8Ghz P4 / 1Gb Ram / 5 x 500GB in Raid 5

Both have Server 2003 Std.

Left: Compaq DC7100 3.4Ghz, 1GB, 1TB setup as a NAS (Network Attached Storage) - This box has Windows XP Pro on a 2GB flash drive. The XP load takes up 400MB and uses about 92MB of ram before using it with apache. Now it runs all my websites:
(www.blulite.org - products.blulite.org - invoice.blulite.org - www.kingcobra289.com - ebay.kingcobra289.com - www.4evern2.com)
It is also an Image Server and Media Server (Movies).

Right: Compaq DC7100 3.4Ghz, 1GB, 1.5TB + 80GB boot drive setup with Windows 2003 Server Standard - This box is the Domain Controller w/ Active Directory, Media Server (TV Shows), File Server, DNS Server, DHCP Server, Name Server (I think thats all).

This is the power source (APC 2200 w/ 4 55Whr batteries). It doesn't look all that good but I lost power for 2 hours and lost 1 bar. I think it could last for over 12 hours but not sure I want to test that.

This picture is the exhaust with 2 120mm fans running at 7 volts. Its about a 3in from the ceiling. I also have a thermometer to keep track of the temps.
